MESSAGE TO ALL PARTNERS
Please take a moment and read
this.
I want to appreciate all Hand of
God Foundation partners for making yourselves available for the work of service
to humanity. Trusting God all the way, you have become vessels unto honor,
bringing glory to God and joy to countless homes.
Our last outing to Maranatha
Initiative on the 4th of October 2015[see pictures on www.handofgodfoundation.blogspot.com
]opened up a new opportunity for us to be vessels of love on a whole new level.
You will forgive me for not being
able to express this effectively on paper, these days I’ve become more of a man
of action than a writer. However, the partners on ground for the visit had a
great time with lovely children at the orphanage which also has a school to
cater for the academic needs of the children. These children are all orphaned
in one way or the other. Some have no parents at all, while others have one
parent who is absolutely unable to take care of himself/herself much less a
child.
Some of their pressing needs
include; Food, mattresses[the children sleep on stacks of cartons on the
floor], mosquito nets, a complete overhaul of their bathroom and toilet
facility, etc.
The Orphanage however turns no
child away. With seasoned teachers who earn a meager salary of N6000 monthly,
feeding of the children, clothing, medicals, toiletries etc, and a visit to our
blog to see some of the pictures, you would agree with me that the task is
rather herculean for the Management of the Orphanage. Every day, a new child is
brought, either orphaned or abandoned and left to whither in the cold hands of
an unforgiving world.
A school fee of N2,400 per child
per term is requested from parents of children from poor homes in the vicinity in
order to make available some income for the provision of food for the children
and payment of salaries of the teachers. Without these and a few kind gestures
from well meaning citizens here and there, these children may go hungry some
days or be deprived of a chance for proper education.
As Hand of God Foundation, we
will not let this happen. We will do all God enables us to do to give these children
the opportunity of good meals and proper education. We will do something about this
and we will do it now!
Some Partners will be meeting
with the Proprietress of the Orphanage later today to discuss modalities on how
we can be of help. Please stay on-line as you will soon receive updates on the
outcome of the meeting. Meanwhile, put on your ‘giving shoes’, because it’s
time to do what we know to do best.
